HARTline To Expand Express Service
Although express bus service accounts for just a fraction of the HARTline system's ridership, it's growing rapidly, from 119,000 passengers in 2004 to more than 145,000 in 2005.
HARTline's planning manager, Steve Feigenbaum, attributes the increase in riders to the sharp rise in gasoline prices last year.

TAMPA - Hillsborough County commissioners decided Wednesday not to withhold $1.3 million from the local transit agency, but they didn't hold back much else - accusing the agency of lying to them and voting no confidence in the longtime director.

Streetcar Named Deficit
TAMPA - It has become a popular downtown attraction. But according to city budget figures, the Tampa streetcar system will spend its $5 million endowment fund within the next five years and city taxpayers will face a deficit. Some members of the HARTline Board of Directors are surprised they've not been made aware of this.
